Families entering the Hub, which previously was the school hall, were greeted with a film short highlighting some of the great ways the spaces uses technology to engage with and present learning. It also included footage from our highly successful 'Great Inquiry Race' which all our transitioning students participated in.
The brilliant Fiona Feetham set up a vibrant display of our approach to Inquiry Based Learning, outline its power and importance in developing deep understanding, as well as all the vital literacy skills required to become a successful learner.
I had the pleasure of displaying all the Hub's 'cool toys', which included our animation software, media suite and of course our 3D printers. It was fantastic to have conversations with people of all ages on the changing role of technology in learning and watching young people share their knowledge and passion for technology with their parents and grandparents.
The Hub was also home to many of our important extra-curriculum opportunities, including our Student Leadership program, student wellbeing support, Vocational Education and Training pathways and our celebration of Diversity, one our our site's three core values.
